About the Club

Welcome to the Field and Furrow Club. As an undergraduate organization we are interested in promoting the fundamentals of agriculture. Our club is involved, outgoing, and active.

Field and Furrow Club is a member of the Students of Agronomy, Soils, and Environmental Sciences (SASES). We attend both regional and national conferences in conjunction with the American Society of Agronomy. SASES provides a great opportunity to meet students in similar areas of study from across the nation, as well as, network with professionals in our field.

Field and Furrow Club presents a tremendous opportunity to expand and improve your leadership skills. We have 12 executive positions, which offer a great opportunity in leadership areas as well as collegiate and industrial networking. As an officer, you can organize activities and projects within the club, or you could venture out and work on an ACES college project or with industrial agriculture in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Because agriculture encompasses careers and majors, our members are from a wide range of backgrounds, from the dairy farms, to major cities. Members are from other majors within the College of ACES and other colleges at the University of Illinois.

In addition to national and regional activities, we keep very active here at home. The annual Fall Call Out allows us to invite all prospective students out for a meeting and an evening of fun. In the fall we also sell mums, have social events, and participate in philanthropy activities. In the spring, members are given the opportunity to compete in the speech contest, IPM contest, and go to the awards banquet. We also prepare and sell the seed sets used by high school FFA chapters in Illinois. Before we all leave for the summer we get together for a spring barbecue.

Feel free to stop by our meetings. They are held the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in W-121 Turner Hall. See our events list for all our activities! We also have a lounge in AE 110 Turner Hall that provides a great place to study.

We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
